Bolivia

Dean grew up in Hemel Hempstead and we have lived here since getting married in 2002. Dean used to run the schools work 'Crossover' for 15 years and Ruth is a primary school teacher. We have been going back and forth to Bolivia since our honeymoon, again in 2007 (for two years) and most recently in 2014. We speak Spanish fluently and absolutely love the culture and people of South America.

We mainly work with young people in prison in Cochabamba in Bolivia. We use drama, creative arts and motivational games to teach Biblical values and promote self esteem within the youth population of the centre. Many of the young people have been living on the streets and have found little or no support from their families. We share the love of Jesus with them, to show them that there is hope, to teach about forgiveness and to help them when they come out of prison.
Working alongside a Bolivian mission organisation and a team of local volunteers we present evangelical dramas in schools, universities, churches, camps and in the town plazas. It's a fun and often frantic ministry where we are seeing God's grace and awesome love being shared with many people in this developing country. Our next mission trip will be in September 2018 for 3 years.

Ruth and Dean shared with us one Sunday morning the testimony of the work in Bolivia
